Considering the plastic stuff and its inherent disposal-problems does not contribute more than 5% of total production/consumption/energy-demand, it may be more beneficial to concentrate on more durability and less built-in redundancy of consumer products ...
An old friend/acquaintance of my man who works in a huge brewery group told us that the plastic bottles have been one of the most ”juicy” coups for this industry by cutting the costs of collecting and cleaning the glass bottles...
I less and less believe in ”coincidences” and other ”lucky chances” 🧐...
But the equation will not square in the long-term: Profits are currently for the few and price is paid by Mother Nature and the plebes getting sicker and sicker.
Shareholders of any kind are the real destroyers.
If somebody has surplus money to lend, he should support his neighborhood by cheap and long-term loans for education or local business/workshops or any other publicly accessible assets (cycle-lanes, roads, bridges, schools, etc., etc.) for immediate/short-term profit of everybody participating.
